It directed a magisterial inquiry. When the state government decided to hand it over to the CBI, the High Court directed the CB-CID to take up the investigation until the CBI begins its inquiry so that the evidence could be preserved.<br />''<br />''Based on the report of the magistrate and the preliminary findings of the autopsy report, the High Court said there is prima facie evidence to slap charges of murder against the accused policemen. Five policemen including the Station House Officer and two Sub-Inspectors were later arrested by the CB-CID.</span><br />
