CBI on Monday rescued two Tamil Nadu-based businessmen allegedly abducted by a gang in New Delhi last week and arrested four persons in this regard. According to CBI, it had got information that Abdul Munaf and Sanjiv Radi alias Bunty, a history sheeter, were running a kidnapping and extortion racket. This prompted the CBI to keep surveillance on their activities. The two yarn businessmen A G Lenin and Anandan were abducted on the 25th of this month and were taken to a safe house in Mohan Gardens locality in South West Delhi. In an early morning operation on Monday, CBI officials rescued them. During the rescue operation, CBI arrested Munaf, Bunty and their two associates, Yusuf and Rakesh. The Investigation Agency said that the accused will be produced before Tis Hazari court on Tuesday.It came to light that the alleged abductors had received 25 lakh rupees through electronic transfer in a Corporation Bank branch in New Delhi and were demanding more ransom from the family of businessmen. The agency has frozen the bank account in which the money was received.
