The Central Bureau of Investigation has denied reports in certain sections of media that the agency recovered 1.5 tonnes of gold worth 1,801.50 crore rupees from Medical Council of India President , Ketan Desai. <br/><br/>It was reported that during searches conducted in connection with a bribery case registered against Mehta and others, huge amount of gold was recovered. <br/><br/>The investigating agency clarified in a statement today in New Delhi that this report is untrue, baseless and totally speculative in nature. It further clarified that such information, as reported, has not been given by any authoritative source in the CBI.
