In Chennai, the CBI sleuths made searches in the premises of the Congress Lok Sabha member Mr Karti P Chidambaram, son of former Union Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P.Chidambaram. <br />''<br />''The searches were also carried out in nine other locations including Mumbai, Delhi,&nbsp;Koppal in Karnataka and Jharsuguda in Odisha. The raids were based on an FIR registered against five accused including Mr Karti Chidambaram.<br />''<br />''The CBI has said in a release, a private company in Punjab was establishing a 1980-megawatt power plant in Mansa in the state and the works were outsourced to a Chinese firm. As the works were getting delayed, it tried to bring in 263 more Chinese workers over and above the ceiling as fixed by the Union Home Ministry. It is alleged that the accused conspired together and a bribe money of fifty lakh rupees exchanged hands.<br />''<br />''Mr Karti has reacted to the raids saying he has lost count of the number of searches. His father and former Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has confirmed the searches by tweeting that this morning, a CBI team searched his residence at Chennai and his official residence at Delhi, by showing a FIR in which he is not named. He has said the search team did not find or seize anything.<br />
