In Jharkhand, the CBI has raided the premises of three MLAs and four others in connection with the investigation of alleged horse trading in the Rajya Sabha polls.
The MLAs whose houses were raided include K N Tripathy of the Congress, Suresh Paswan of the RJD and Vishnu Bhaiya of the JMM.
AIR Correspondent reports that raids were carried out at 14 places in Ranchi, Modinagar, Jamshedpur, Deoghar and Jamtara. After an order from the Jharkhand High Court, the CBI is investigating the Rajya Sabha polls of this year as well as that of 2010.
This year election of March 30 was countermanded after seizure of 2.15 crores, while in 2010 footage of cutting deals with few MLAs were shown on some TV channels.
In 2010, Dheeraj Sahu of the Congress and K D Singh of the JMM were elected. Mr. Singh later switched over to the Trinamool Congress.
