The CBI today conducted searches at the premises of some officials connected with organizing the Commonwealth Games. CBI sources said that searches were conducted at the premises of R.P. Gupta, U.K. Ridhi, A.K. Saxena, Surjit Lal and Nukesh Jain. The investigative agency had earlier arrested Deorukhkar Shekhar a close aid of former organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi. Nearly six hundred crore rupees of contracts rating to the overlays projects are under scanner of the agency. They include supply of tents, containers, security fences, furniture, air conditions, lighting, civil construction and athletic exercise equipment. An FIR has also been registered against the officials. Earlier, the agency had registered three FIRs for alleged corruption in the projects and events in the run up to the mega sports event.
