CBI today conducted raids at 52 places in Jharkhand and one place in Bihar in connection with the land scam of Deoghar. CBI sources told our Ranchi Correspondent that important evidences were seized in the day-long search operations and cases were registered against 64 officers.
AIR Ranchi Correspondent reports that more than 800 acres of non-saleable land of Deoghar were sold by forging the documents in which many government officers of different departments had connived. The investigation was carried out earlier by the State Vigilance Bureau in which matters were probed against 52 officers. But the case was transferred to CBI on the 15th of this month. The scam is estimated to be of around 1000 crore rupees.
