CBI conducted searches at 23 Locations including Kolkata (18 places), Ranchi (05 places) on Wednesday in connection with Shell companies & Hawala rackets, as part of a ongoing investigation.<br/><br/>The case had been registered against Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Ranchi, three other officials of Income Tax & six private persons including a CA and many unnamed. <br/><br/>The allegations levelled were of criminal conspiracy, taking illegal gratification, criminal misconduct & others etc.The premises of the accused and others have been raided. The Salt Lake residence of Mr. Tapas Kumar Dutta, principal secretary, IT-department-Ranchi, was among the Kolkata locations.<br/>
