CBI moves application to allow it to go for further probe into Bofors payoff case

The CBI has moved an application before a Delhi court seeking a direction to allow it to go for further probe into the 64 crore rupees Bofors payoff case. <br/><br/>The application was moved before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ashu Garg on Thursday, a day before the agency filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court's 2005 verdict. <br/><br/>The High Court had on 31st May, 2005 discharged all accused persons in the case, including Europe-based industrialists Hinduja brothers. <br/><br/>In the application, the CBI told the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate that it had come across fresh material and evidence in the case. The court posted the matter for hearing on the 17th of this month. <br/><br/>
