In Gujarat, Amit Shah, the close aide of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is being interrogated by the CBI for the first time today in connection with the killing of Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi. The CBI will question Shah over three days starting today. The interrogation is being carried out in judicial custody with audio and video recording as ordered by the special CBI court. The agency also wants Shah to be confronted by the other accused – including top police officers like DG Vanjara. Earlier on Tuesday, the copy of charge sheet filed against former Gujarat Minister Amit Shah was handed over to him. According to the charge sheet, the motive behind the Sohrabuddin fake encounter was extortion money as well as a political. The conspiracy started from extortion money of politically connected marble traders, which lead to the fake encounter in 2005. AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that CBI has to file its report to the Supreme Court by the month end on the investigations in Sohrabuddin Shaikh fake encounter.
