The CBI today arrested Kadapa Lok Sabha Member and YSR Congress party President Jaganmohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case.
YSR Congress leader Jupudi Prabhakar Rao announced in Hyderabad that the Kadapa MP has been informed about his arrest at 7.20 pm after a three day interrogation. Stating that the act as undemocratic, Prabhakar Rao asked the party cadres to maintain peace and tranquility in the state.
Earlier, amidst tight security arrangements at the CBI Camp office in Hyderabad , the CBI officials grilled Jaganmohan Reddy for the third consecutive day today reportedly over the alleged illegal land allotments and investments in his companies. The interrogation went on about seven hours today in the presence of his advocates and those accused who were already arrested in the case. The CBI had named Jaganmohan Reddy as first accused in its charge sheet filed last year and also accused 71 others.
Jaganmohan Reddy has been facing charges that he had conspired with his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who was then the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to dole out favours to those companies which invested in his companies.
