The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI on Monday day recorded a statement of the former Aircel owner C Sivasankaran in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam. AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports, Mr Sivasankaran was grilled by CBI in New Delhi. Mr Sivasankaran owned Aircel-a telecom company and his requests for mobile network licences were repeatedly rejected by the department of telecommunications. Mr Sivasankaran later sold his company to Maxis, a company which has business links with Sun TV owned by Kalanidhi Maran, brother of union textile minister Dayanidhi Maran. The company was awarded licences for seven more circles after the change in ownership.
