The CBI has registered three more cases for alleged irregularities in the coal blocks allocation case, taking the total number of cases filed to 27.
The fresh cases are against SKS Ispat and Power Limited, its promoters and directors, members of the 35th Screening Committee, public servants and others.
The charges against the accused are criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal misconduct.
CBI sources said on Tuesday, that there are allegations that the company in question misrepresented facts about its preparedness and net worth eligibility before the committee.
The sources said searches were conducted at several locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Raigarh and Raipur and an investigation is on.
This is the second case in which the accused include government officials. On the 3rd of this month, the investigating agency booked RJD leader and Rajya Sabha member Prem Chand Gupta and a few others.
