CBI files closure report in Tatra Vehicle Purchase scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a closure report in Tatra truck case. In its closure report filed before a special court yesterday, the CBI cited lack of sufficient evidence to prosecute the UK-based company Tatra Sipox and its CEO Ravinder Rishi. According to CBI closure report, no sustained evidence was found to prove that indigenization of truck for use by Indian Army was deliberately delayed which was one of the major allegation in the first information report. The CBI indicated that it did not see any irregularity in the matter. Former Army Chief Gen. VK Singh, in March 2012, had alleged that bribes were offered to him to clear the purchase of all-terrain Tatra trucks. But in its report, the CBI said, there is no basis to the allegations against the company and its CEO. The court is yet to take up the matter.
