CBI today said that the 2004 Ishrat Jahan encounter was fake. CBI today filed chargesheet in the case.

In its charge sheet, CBI contended that encounter was a joint operation between Gujarat police and Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau, SIB.

The investigating agency further said that offence has been established against ADGP P P Pandey, suspended police officers D G Vanzara, G L Singhal, Tarun Barot, N K Amin and Anaju Chaudhary,J G Parmar.

It said that investigation is on against Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau Rajinder Kumar and four officers of the agency.
