The Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI today filed a Chargesheet in the Emmar illegal land transfer case in a special CBI court in Hyderabad. CBI Joint Director Lakshmi narayana told reporters that three persons and three organisations have been accused in its 1000-page charge sheet. They have been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and breach of trust under various provisions of criminal procedure code, he said. The CBI has interrogated 270 persons and collected over two thousand three hundred documents in the case. The central investigating agency is likely to file a supplementary charge sheet later. Four persons including principle home Secretary of the state, B P Acharya and Sunil Reddy a close aid to Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Y S Jagnamohan Reddy have been arrested in connection with the Emmar Land Scam. The state exchequer reportedly incurred losses to a tune of 2500 crore rupees due to undervalue of the high-end villas and flats benefiting some politicians, film actors and business personalities close to people in power in 2005.
