Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said it had given ample opportunity to all sections to furnish material relevant regarding the violent incidents that took place in Madras High Court premises in February last year. Briefing newsmen in Chennai today, the CBI spokesman Mr Harsh Bahl said the agency had filed 6 charge sheets relating to the violent incidents before the Additional Chief Metropolitan magistrate court in Chennai on the 12th of this month.<br/><br/>Refusing to give details of those accused in the case, Mr Bahl said the CBI has recommended departmental action against 22 police personnel for having committed excesses and their immediate supervisory officers who failed to exercise restraint over their subordinates.<br/><br/>He said the CBI has filed charge sheet against 31 advocates and one law student for conspiring to indulge in violence and said the agency has a strong case against them. On the case against policemen, he said the CBI has filed charge sheets against 5 police personnel for damaging public property , causing hurt besides use of criminal force.
