The CBI has filed a case against the officials of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board who allegedly conspired with the builders to put up unauthorised constructions in the Cantonment area.

Defence Minister A.K. Antony informed in the Lok Sabha today that there are about 1187 unauthorised constructions in Secunderabad Cantonment.

These comprise of both deviations from the sanctioned building plan as well as constructions carried out without sanction. Mr. Antony said CBI investigation and departmental enquiries are going on.

Action against the unauthorised constructions is being taken by the Cantonment Board under the relevant provisions of the Cantonments Act, 2006, he said.
