CBI files case against former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, BSNL officials

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against the then Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran and BSNL officials for allegedly allotting 300 high-speed telephone lines to Maran's residence in Chennai.

CBI source said that an FIR was filed following discovery of enough material its preliminary enquiry to proceed with a regular case. These telephone lines were allegedly against the name of BSNL General Manager. The lines were connected with the Boat House residence of Maran and the office of Sun TV through a dedicated underground cable during his tenure as Telecom Minister.
