CBI court convicts 52 fodder scam accused

A special CBI court today convicted 52 fodder scam accused, including two former regional directors of the Animal Husbandry Department (AHD), for fraudulently withdrawing about 19.2 crore rupees from a treasury in Ranchi in the 1990s. The court of A H Ansari awarded eight of the convicts who had been suppliers of the Department, three years imprisonment and a fine amount up to ten lakh. The judge will pronounce tomorrow the quantum of sentence against the rest 44, including AHD's ex-Regional Directors Dr Junul Bhengraj and Dr K N Jha.
