CBI court adjourns hearing on Jagan's bail plea to May 31st

A Special CBI court in Hyderabad today adjourned the hearing till Thursday on the bail petition filed by Kadapa Lok Sabha member YS Jaganmohan Reddy in connection with the Disproportionate assets case. The Court also asked the CBI to file a counter affidavit in this regard.

Jaganmohan Reddy has filed a fresh petition this morning even as the Court dismissed his earlier bail petition sending him for Judicial Remand till 11th of next month. He sought bail this time on the grounds of need to campaign for his party in the by-elections. The CBI has filed a fresh petition seeking his custody for further investigation of the case.

Meanwhile, the CBI has taken Industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad into custody this morning to question him further in the assets case against the Kadapa MP. Prasad was arrested about fifteen days ago and the CBI special court yesterday extended the remand of both Prasad and Senior Official Brahmananda Reddy till tomorrow.
