CBI continue questioning Jagan Reddy in assets case

The CBI is questioning Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Y S Jaganmohan Reddy who was arrested in connection with the disproportionate assets case against him, on the third day today in custody. The Central Investigating Agency has brought the Kadapa MP from Chanchalguda Central Jail to the CBI Office in Hyderabad amidst tight security arrangements to continue its interrogation.Our correspondent reports that a team of CBI officials continued questioning the Kadapa MP for the third consecutive day today. As per the High Court Directions the interrogation continued in the presence of two advocates. The CBI officials have also called an MLA close to the Kadapa MP and one of his senior managers for today’s interrogation as the questioning is reportedly going on with important documents in hand. The CBI had questioned the Kadapa MP for last two days following the High Court directed for five day custody to further prob the disproportionate assets case against him. Jaganmohan Reddy has been facing charges of conspiring with his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who was then the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to dole out favors to various industries in return to the huge investments in his companies. He was arrested on 27th last month and presently lodged in jail in Hyderabad on judicial remand till 11th of this month.

Meanwhile, the CBI has also summoned on Thursday another minister Ponnala Lakshmaih to its office in connection with the assets case over issuing govt. orders, GOs. Lakshmiaih was then the Major Irrigation Minister and issued a GO allotting water from the reservoirs to the companies which allegedly provided investments to Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies.
