CBI books three senior Haryana govt officers in corruption case

The CBI has booked Three senior Haryana government officers in a corruption case relating to the period while they were posted in Union Territory Chandigarh. They have been booked for having favoured a company in the allotment of over 73 acres of land for the setting up of a theme-cum-amusement park in village Sarangpur in Chandigarh. The company's Managing Director has also been booked. The four have been booked under various sections. The case was registered on Tuesday. Last year, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had recommended investigation by the CBI into the allegations leveled in the allotment of land for these projects. Vigilance Commission had also conducted its own probe. Confirming that a case has been registered against the three officers, CBI officer Mahesh Aggarwal said the inquiry into the allotment of land for the setting up of the theme-cum-amusement park was now complete while, inquiries into the other two projects still on.
