CBI books IIT-Goa director BK Mishra for disproportionate assets

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday registered a case against the Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Goa Barada Kanta Mishra for his allegedly possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of over one crore 14 lakh rupees.<br/> <br/>He is a also a former Director of the Bhubaneswar-based Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT). <br/><br/>He is accused of graft during his stint at the IMMT in Bhubaneswar as its Director. <br/><br/>He has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, CBI sources revealed. <br/><br/>The investing agency sources said Mishra's properties were worth 3 lakh 48 thousand rupees in 2006 and in 2016 his properties value stood at 2 crore 19 lakh rupees.<br/><br/>Mishra, a renowned academician has done extensive studies in extractive metallurgy and mineral processing apart from publications in 200 journals.
