CBI arrests two NCB officers a for accepting bribe

In Uttar Pradesh the central Bureau of Investigation CBI has arrested two officials of Narcotics Control Bureau at Lucknow for allegedly accepting bribe from a person. Quoting CBI sources AIR correspondent reports that the officials were identified as Diwakar Tripathi and Rajeev Kumar Singh. They are working as Superintendent and upper division clerk respectively in the office of Zonal Director, NCB at Lucknow. A special CBI court has sent them jail for 14 days under judicial custody. CBI officials has recovered a cash of 7 lakh fifty thousand, two lockers' keys, documents of a house under construction in Lucknow in a plot area of 2,152 square feet and six accounts in different banks from premises of Mr. Tripathi during search conducted at his office and residence premises. A person from Barabanki had filed complaint against them for demanding a bribe of two lakh rupees from him for releasing his friend from illegal detention and not implicating him in a false Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances NDPS case.
