The CBI has arrested four senior Income Tax officials including Commissioner Investigations, Kanpur, Kunal Singh in Kanpur in Utter Pradesh on Monday.

Joint Director Investigations, Ratan Singh and Assistant Commissioner Umakant were also arrested apart from Managing Director of a Reality firm Pankaj Bajaj and a Chartered Accountant, Anil Jaiswal.

The action comes after searches were conducted by the CBI last night at several places. CBI sources said that based on a tip off that the officers were allegedly accepting bribe to settle tax evasion cases, the investigation agency carried out searches at various locations.
