CBI arrests absconding accused in forgery case

Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI has arrested an absconding accused in a case relating to use of forged recommendation letter purportedly issued by a Joint Secretary, Prime Minister's Office addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Integral University, Lucknow for his admission in an Engineering Course. The case was registered on October 2011 on a complaint of the then Officer on Special Duty, Prime Minister's Office. <br/><br/>After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on June 2013 against the said accused under various sections of IPC in the Court of Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI Cases, Lucknow. A Supplementary chargesheet was also filed on March 2014 against said accused and another accused in the Court. On the event of non-appearance, the Court had issued Non Bailable Warrant against him. After sustained efforts, the accused was traced and arrested at Hyderabad. The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI Cases, Lucknow and remanded to Judicial Custody.
