The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) plans to sign another 30 to 40 Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) with foreign enterprises before the end of the current fiscal. The move will provide stability and confidence to foreign enterprises. According to an official release the APA regime was rolled out in 2013-14 in the country. An APA, is essentially a negotiated deal between a taxpayer and the tax authorities that sets out beforehand the method for determining the transfer pricing pertaining to transactions between a subsidiary and its foreign parent.
