Central Board of Direct Taxes, CBDT has ordered an inquiry against a number of real estate developers in connection with property transaction.

They were recently shown by an investigative portal to be willing to accept alleged black money in property transactions.

The apex authority has asked its investigation units across the country to initiate action against the groups named by the portal.

It has asked its units to furnish reports if they have already taken any action or conducted any probe in the past.

The CBDT has asked the investigation units to submit the reports by the first fortnight of next month.
The investigation done by portal Cobrapost.com included many developers from the national capital region and those from other parts of the country including Mumbai.
