The Central Board of Direct Taxes, CBDT, has extended the due date of filing income tax returns in Sikkim till the 31st of this month. Earlier the due date was 30th September. According to an official release, the decision to extend the date of filing returns was taken by CBDT after considering the reports of disturbance of general life caused by earthquake in Sikkim. The release also said that the specific date for tax audit report has also been extended till the 31st of this month.
