Cauvery Supervisory Committee rejects TN demand for its share of water

The Cauvery Supervisory Committee has rejected Tamil Nadu's demand for its share of water saying that it is not feasible due to the deficit in inflows and very low storage level in the reservoirs in Karnataka.
The Committee meeting was chaired by Union Water Resources Secretary S K Das, in which representatives of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were present. The meeting noted that the availability of water was very less as compared to the average. However, the situation will be reviewed in the next meeting scheduled for the first week of next month.
