A global effort to eradicate Rinderpest, a cattle disease that once ravaged livestock in Africa, Europe and Asia, has come to a successful end.United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation said it was terminating all field activities to combat the disease, paving the way for an official announcement on Rinderpest eradication.Dr John Anderson from the Institute for Animal Health at Pirbright, U.K, who has involved in the eradication programme, says it is a huge achievement.
