The two out of three US indices ended with losses yesterday. The Nasdaq Composite index lost 0.27 percent and the S&P 500 fell 0.03 percent. While the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.03 percent.

Oil prices rose around one percent today. In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 78 dollars and 90 cents per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was trading at 73 dollars and 46 cents per barrel when reports last came in.

In the forex market, the Indian rupee today ended at 83 rupees and 23 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US dollar's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was up at 102.29 in intra-day trade.
