Sensex slips 12 points; Nifty settles at 11,194

Benchmark domestic indices today fell marginally amid plunge in global stocks. Sensex slipped 12 points at 38,129. Similarly, the Nifty lost 21 points to settle at 11,194. In the broader market at BSE, the Mid-cap declined 0.59 per cent and the Small-cap fell 0.23 per cent.

Gold crosses Rs 51000 mark, up by Rs 502

Gold prices went past the 51,000 rupees mark in the national capital, rising by 502 rupees on strong international prices. The precious metal rose by 502 rupees to 51,443 rupees per 10 gram. Silver, however, declined by rupees 69 to 62,760 rupees per kg.

Rupee appreciates 17 paise to close at 74.74 against US dollar

The rupee today appreciated 17 paise to close at 74 rupees and 74 paise against the US dollar, tracking positive domestic equities and hopes of a COVID-19 vaccine.      Forex traders said, positive domestic equities, foreign fund inflows and hopes of a COVID-19 vaccine supported the rupee.
