Sensex rises 78 points in early trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose 78 points in opening trade on Tuesday upon fresh buying by funds and retail investors. Sensex was trading at 17069 up by 86 points when reports last came in. Similarly Nifty of National stocks exchange was up by 31 points at 5098.

Rupee up 8 paisa to 46.48 against USD

The rupee appreciated by 8 paise to 46.48 against the dollar in early trade on Tuesday. Dealers said the weakening of rupee is due to selling of dollars by the exporters. The rupee had ended 28 paise lower at 46.56 on Monday.

Weak dollar surges Oil price in Asia

Oil prices rose in Asian trade on Tuesday as traders capitalized on a weakening US dollar. New York's light sweet crude rose 35 cents to 74.28 dollars a barrel. Brent North Sea crude climbed 57 cents to 77 dollars.
