Rupee up by 21 paise against dollar

The rupee today rose by 21 paise to 45.40 a dollar in early trade. The Indian currency opened higher at 45.45/46 per dollar, against Wednesday's closing level of 45.61/62. Forex dealers mainly attributed the rise in the rupee value to recovery in Indian equities.
