The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed with a marginal gain of 6 points, at 17,941, on Tuesday.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange declined 2 points, to 5,366. Stock markets in Japan, China, Singapore and South Korea ended mixed.

Gold fell 50 rupees, to 16,650 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market on Tuesday. Silver ready also remained weak, and lost 50 rupees, to 27,500 rupees per kilo.
