The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 199 points, or 1.2 percent, at 16,417, today, amid rising Asian and European markets. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange advanced 65 points, or 1.3 percent, to 4,986.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 105 points, or 0.7 percent, to 16,322 in intra-day trade, on Monday.In other Asian markets, key indices in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore were trading higher between 0.2 percent and 1.2 percent in intra-day trade.
