Oil price rises more than half a per cent

Oil price on Wednesday rose more than half a per cent. In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at around 79 dollars and 30 cents per barrel, while WTI crude price was at 74 dollars per barrel, when reports last came in.

Rupee closes at Rs 82.34 against US dollar

In the forex market, the rupee today closed at 82 rupees and 34 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates the US currency's strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading almost flat at 102.44 in intra-day trade.
