The Lok Sabha was adjourned for one hour till Noon today following strong protests from opposition parties on the process of the conducting caste-based census. Members belonging to BJP, JD(U), Samajwadi Party, RJD and BSP and others opposed the biometric system proposed in the census. They wanted head-count of the people in the enumeration of census rather going for finger prints etc saying the biometric system is a long process and time-consuming. Several members even trooped into the well of the house despite repeated requests from the Speaker, Mrs. Meira Kumar that the matter can be taken up after question hour. As the noisy scenes continued, the Speaker adjourned the house till 12 '0' clock.
