CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury alleged that the Centre was encouraging cashless transactions in order to benefit the multinational companies and deplored that demonetisation had deprived lakhs of people of their employment. <br/><br/>Addressing a meeting in Vijayawada yesterday, he said, the Centre is encouraging cashless transactions in the country, where 98 per cent of transactions are carried out through cash. He said, even in the US, only 48 per cent cashless transactions are carried out. <br/><br/>Taking exception to the BJP leaders' allegations that the Opposition parties were not allowing the Prime Minister to speak in the Parliament, Mr Yechury said that Prime Minister was not coming to Parliament. Earlier, Mr Yechury inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium MB Vignana Kendram.
