Union Government's digital push has yielded encouraging results especially with regard to cashless transactions in Uttar Pradesh. Digidhan Abhiyan has enabled the people of the state, small traders and merchants to go for digital payments in their everyday financial transactions. <br/><br/>A free to air channel, launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology – Digishala is imparted information and education to the people in rural and semi-urban areas on digital payment systems. People are seen using UPI, USSD, Aadhar enabled payment system, e-wallets and cards. Popularity of BHIM app is quite high in this area. Most of the students are seen using it. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that After NITI Aayog announced the launch of the schemes "Lucky Grahak Yojana" and "Digidhan Vyapar Yojana" to give cash awards to consumers and merchants, the utilization of digital payment instruments for personal consumption expenditures, enhanced all over the states. "Digidhan Mela" organized at several places played important role in creating awareness about the benefits of digital payment options. <br/><br/>In Digidan Mela, people were provided with free wi-fi to enable them to download and install mobile apps for aiding on the spot digital payments. Digidhan Mela were followed up by camps organized at state level and at bank branch level helped the people very much in learning and practicing digital payment systems. In Uttar Pradesh, Digidhan Mela at Allahabad, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur have been very successful, as people from every section of the society participated enthusiastically to make India Digital and cashless.
