Railways has said that the percentage of cashless transaction in reserved segment has increased to 68 percent from an average of 58 percent last year. While in the unreserved category it has increased from 6.5 percent to 8 percent. <br/><br/>Railway Ministry said, about three thousand POS machines have been provided at about 2084 locations till yesterday. It said, to promote cashless payment, ticket vending machines have also been installed at stations. <br/><br/>Indian Railways carries more than two crore passengers every day and the daily revenue from passenger segment is about 130 crore rupees.
