The government has decided to move towards direct transfer of cash subsidy to people living below poverty line in the phased manner.Giving this information in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena said that pilot projects have been launched in Alwar, and Mysore in respect of direct cash transfer of cash subsidy for Kerosene and Domestic LPG, respectively. He said that this decision has taken to ensure greater efficiency, cost effectiveness and better delivery for Kerosene, Domestic LPG and fertilizers.
