The government is considering a proposal to link transfer of cash subsidy to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of LPG customers. Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Panabaaka Lakshmi said this in the Lok Sabha today. In a written reply, she informed the House that requests were received from the governments of some of the States and Union Territories to extend the deadline for providing the Aadhaar Numbers to distributors. The deadline has been extended to the 15th of April this year in the twenty identified districts, she said.
