Cash-for-vote case: Delhi HC asks status report on Amar Singh case

Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, arrested for his alleged role in the 2008 cash-for-vote case, today approached the Delhi High Court for bail after which the court asked Delhi Police to respond within three days.
Issuing a notice to the police, Justice Ajit Bharihoke sought its status report on Singh's case within three days and slated the bail plea for hearing on the 12th of this month. The court also asked All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, where Amar Singh is now under treatment of his kidney-related ailments, to submit its latest report on Amar Singh's health by the same date.
Amar Singh had moved the high court after a city court had rejected both his interim and regular bail pleas on the on 28 th of last month.
