Carnival Indradhanush held at India Gate Lawns

A carnival Indradhanush was held at the India Gate Lawns this evening as part of Shauryanjali Exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1965 war with Pakistan. Today's event included, among other things, a thrilling aerial display of flypast by Advanced Light Helicopters, Sukhoi and MI 17 which mesmerised the audience. It followed a carnival Indradhanush, that showcased events like martial arts display, jazz band concert, hot air balloon rides, choreographed dance shows, dog show, army motor cycle display and a host of other activities.Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the exhibition on Wednesday. He mentioned in his monthly radio programme Mann ki Baat today that he was supposed to be in Shauryanjali for 30 minutes but spent much more time than that. AIR correspondent reports that in view of huge turnout, the exhibition which was scheduled to conclude today has been extended by two days.<br/> <br/>The nationwide month-long celebrations to honour the soldiers who fought the war began on 28th of last month — the day India had captured the Haji Pir pass.
