Chairman of Finance Commission of India Dr. Vijay Kelkar today said that carbon and crude oil prices are likely to increase in the market.Adressing the 8th Petro India's Inaugural Session in New Delhi, Dr. Kelkar said that demand is increasing in the market economy due to greater awareness of energy fuels therefore it is imperative to devise strategies to shift to solar energy in the next 20 years. He emphasized on the volatility of hydrocarbons and suggested appropriate policy regimes for fuels like natural gas to benefit the poor by generating human resource capital.The two day conference will discuss issues ranging from strengthening of the domestic petroleum sector, volatility in hydrocarbons and creating infrastructure for oil and natural gas. Speakers from india and abroad are participating in the conference organised by India Energy Forum, PetroTech and Observe Research Foundation.
