In Afghanistan, two soldiers were injured when a suicide car bomber hit a US military convoy today in capital Kabul. Head of Kabul's crime investigation branch Mohammed Zahir said a suicide car bomber blew himself up close to a US forces convoy near the parliament building, injuring a US soldier and an Afghan army troop. He said the bomber died in the attack.The international forces said that the vehicle-borne bomb exploded near Camp Julian south of Kabul when a military convoy passed the vehicle. Another foreign soldier was killed today in militant attack in eastern Afghanistan today while six guards of a private security company were killed when militants ambushed their convoy in southern Helmand province.Provincial administration spokesman Daud Ahmadi said that a group of militants ambushed and engaged a convoy of local security firm escorting two oil tankers from provincial capital Lashkar Gah to neighboring Nad ali district yesterday killing the security guards. Earlier, army and coalition forces claimed to have killed at least 20 militants in two separate operations.
