Car bomb blast kills 5 in Baghdad

In Iraq, at least five people were killed and 18 others wounded in a car bomb blast in western Baghdad today. <br/><br/>Voice of Iraq news agency quoting security sources has reported that the incident occurred when a car rigged with explosives went off near an army checkpoint in al-Aamiriya neighbourhood in western Baghdad. <br/><br/>The killed include three soldiers and two civilians, while two soldiers and 16 civilians were among the injured. The blast damaged a number of civilian vehicles. <br/><br/>Baghdad has witnessed several explosions in the past few days, during which scores of people mostly Shiite pilgrims were killed and wounded.
